Pre-Service Training (August – November 2016)

As a requirement to become a Peace Corps Volunteer, ‘trainees’ must spend three months in Pre-Service Training (‘PST’) put on by Peace Corps staff to better trainee’s language, intercultural, and technical skills as well as make sure that Peace Corps service is right for the trainee. Peace Corps Colombia uses a community-based training model that places trainees in a town similar to that which they will be in for their two year service. I spent my three months of training in the municipality of Polonuevo, Atlántico. A highly visual and detailed presentation is available by clicking the link here.
